Individual Giving

Every woman needs a midwife when she is giving birth, and we want midwives to provide the best care they can.

In these times of limited resources, midwives and students can find it hard to get funding for extra training or to do research which will improve midwifery.  That's why we give out financial awards to enable them to develop their practice or to improve local services. Our award winners testify to the difference that having an Iolanthe Award makes to them:

Having an award from Iolanthe means that this work is valued. By doing this you are advocating for the women and babies who are often forgotten, misunderstood and already disadvantaged

LAURA ABBOTT, MIDWIVES AWARD WINNER, WORKING WITH PREGNANT WOMEN IN PRISON

Deaf women can experience social exclusion and isolation during their pregnancy and early parenting years. They can also face barriers in acessing services. With my award I was able to study level 2 BSL and have been able to used my new language skills within practice.

SARAH SCARLETT, STUDENT AWARD WINNER, WORKING WITH DEAF PREGNANT WOMEN

By supporting midwives to develop themselves and their practice, Iolanthe helps to improve midwifery care to the benefit of all pregnant women, their babies and their families.

Iolanthe relies on donations like yours to ensure that we can fund as many awards for midwives and student midwives as possible each year.

Whether it is a one off donation or you’d like to give more regularly you can do this at Iolanthe's Paypal link. You can also raise money as you shop, with Iolanthe's Easy Fundraising page. Our marathon runners can be supported at the Iolanthe Just Giving page. And don't forget, you can also claim Gift Aid which increases the value of your donation to us.
