Governance
3 year strategy
In July 2024, the Trustees approved an ambitious 3 year strategy aimed at increasing Iolanthe’s reach and profile and diversifying our income streams.
Trustees
Some trustees have moved on and others have joined us. As of March 2025 we are recruiting for:
Fundraising Lead Trustee and a Finance Lead Trustee
We have developed a comprehensive induction process for trustees and regular training updates are circulated to the board. In December 2024 we ran a morning GDPR training session for all board members - this will be repeated annually and we are now looking to commission EDI training for 2025.
We have established sub committees in:
-
Finance
-
Awards
-
Fundraising
These, all with specific terms of reference, feed into our main board and business meetings.
A huge amount of work has been carried out on the infrastructure of the organisation. We now have a comprehensive suite of policies in place to ensure organisational compliance and sustainability. Work is currently being undertaken to develop an AI policy alongside work on organisational resilience and contingency planning.
Patron and ambassadors
We are in the process of recruiting both a new patron and for us a new initiative, ambassadors. Role descriptions have been developed for both of these and we are confident that with these positions filled we are confident that we will greatly increase both our profile and reach.
Staff
We now have 3 staff in place - we all work remotely.
-
Moira Dennison - Executive Director 30 hours a week
-
Chris Ross - Philanthropy Officer 18 hours a week
-
Sharyn Lock - Administrator - 15 hours a week
A structured staff induction programme has been developed.
