We caught up with Chris - or Fordy, as his mates know him - for a quick chat. We asked...
How did you get into running in the first place?
"I began running to get back into shape after our first daughter was born."
Have you run marathons before?
"I’ve now lost count, to be honest — but it’s around 20."
What do you find tough about training/marathon running?
"Nothing! I absolutely love it."
What do you find rewarding/enjoyable about training/marathon running?
"It’s the pursuit of improvement, both mentally and physically. Marathon training tests both aspects, and if you get it right, it can be incredibly rewarding."
What do you enjoy doing when not running?
"Most of my time is spent running or being involved with running as a coach and the founder of the largest running club in the country. When I have a weekend off, I just love hanging out with my daughters."
Why do you want to run for Iolanthe?
Taking on this challenge for the Iolanthe Midwifery Trust gives me the chance to raise awareness and vital funds for a cause that directly impacts the health and wellbeing of future generations.
