I am delighted to provide a report on the effective utilisation of the £1000 grant generously provided by the Iolanthe Organisation to support 'The Birth Booth' podcast.

This podcast serves as a platform dedicated to discussing and supporting crucial topics related to pregnancy, childbirth, and reproductive health, with a specific focus on the experiences of black women. As a midwife, I recognised the pressing need for more attention and literature surrounding the challenges faced by women during the perinatal period.

The grant has played a pivotal role in establishing 'The Birth Booth' as a medium for education and storytelling, offering encouragement and support to women of colour.

The £1000 grant from the Iolanthe Organisation was allocated meticulously to address the specific needs of 'The Birth Booth' podcast. A significant portion of the grant was allocated to the acquisition of essential podcasting equipment, including microphones, headphones, and audio recording software.

This investment directly contributed to a substantial improvement in the audio quality of our episodes, enhancing the overall listening experience. To ensure consistent podcast production and maintain high-quality recording and distribution, a portion of the grant was designated for hosting and recording subscriptions. These subscriptions have played a crucial role in storing and disseminating our podcast content effectively.

The Iolanthe Organisation's grant has had a transformative impact on "The Birth Booth" podcast. Some of the key achievements include:

Educational Content: The podcast has successfully fulfilled its mission by providing education and creating a platform for open discussions on topics that were previously underrepresented in the realm of reproductive health for black women.

Diverse Guest Speakers:The grant enabled us to feature a wide range of guest speakers, including experienced midwives, healthcare professionals, and women who shared their personal stories. This diversity of perspectives has enriched the value our podcast offers to its audience.

Positive Reviews:'The Birth Booth' podcast has garnered a wealth of positive reviews from listeners, affirming its significance in providing valuable information, inspiration, and support to women of colour throughout their pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum journeys.

Iolanthe's grant has been instrumental in the success of 'The Birth Booth' podcast. The funding enabled us to procure vital equipment, engage expert guests, enhance audio quality, and expand our reach through effective marketing efforts.

We are profoundly grateful for this support, as it has empowered us to fulfill our mission of providing education, empowerment, and inspiration to black women during their pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum experiences. We look forward to continuing our work to support and discuss critical topics in the realm of reproductive health.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Iolanthe Organisation for their generous support and unwavering belief in our mission.

This grant has made a tangible difference, not only for our podcast but for the women whose voices we are committed to amplifying and empowering.
