Helen is an Associate Professor of Midwifery at the University of York.
Helen enjoyed roles in clinical midwifery, research and practice education before becoming a midwifery educator, working in educational roles in North East Scotland before relocating to York. She currently undertakes the roles of Subject Group Lead for Midwifery, Lead Midwife for Education and team lead for a collegiate and supportive midwifery education team at the University of York.
Helen has undertaken a range of educational leadership roles during her career, and she is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Helen particularly enjoyed her role as a Steering Group member and academic mentor for the Mary Seacole Awards, and she is always keen to nurture talent in others. She is passionate about supporting midwifery and maternity education, and professional development to empower and engage individuals to reach their potential.
